Not at all! Ryvie is designed to be as simple as a smartphone. Plug in the box, follow the guided setup wizard, and you're ready to go. No technical knowledge required. A full installation usually takes less than 15 minutes.

Yes, absolutely! You can access your Ryvie from any device: smartphone, tablet, computer. Either through a dedicated app or simply from your web browser. Your data is available anywhere in the world.

On your local network (at home), Ryvie works perfectly even without an internet connection. You can access all your files and apps from any device connected to your home network. Remote access, of course, requires an internet connection.

Yes! The core of Ryvie (OpenCore) is Source Available and published on GitHub. The code is transparent, auditable by anyone, and you can even contribute to the project. We also use many open source apps in our App Store.

Yes, that's actually one of Ryvie's goals! If you have a computer you no longer use, you can install the Ryvie OpenCore software for free. We also offer ready-to-use refurbished computers in our Circular Economy range.

Your data is more secure than with a traditional cloud because it stays physically at your home. Ryvie uses end-to-end encryption, two-factor authentication, and secure connections. Unlike the cloud giants, no one but you has access to your files.

Ryvie Home is a ready-to-use device, made with refurbished hardware (~€300), that you plug in at home. Ryvie Cloud is your own Ryvie on a dedicated server, just for you, hosted in Europe and accessible online with nothing to install (subscription): it's not a shared service, and it's the version you can try right now at demo.ryvie.fr. Finally, RyvieOS is free and Source Available: you install it yourself on any PC you like. All three offer the same software features.

You can install every app available in the Ryvie App Store (hundreds of apps). If you use OpenCore, you have even more freedom to install whatever you want. We also build custom apps tailored to your specific needs.

rAI connects the apps of your choice (files, mail, calendar, notes, etc.) to the AI you prefer: Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT… The assistant can then work directly with your data from your Ryvie. You stay in control: you decide which apps are connected and what the AI can use.
